holiday!
it's quite chilly in hong kong, about 15-20 deg. i'm afraid i actually wore a woolly scarf today. and a thick coat... i'm a tropical gal... but then all the summer wear, although rare now, are all on sale!!! cuz it's from the past season!!!
oh did i mention that i was so excited to be taking SIA for this trip? the singapore girl and famous service and all! cuz it was on promotion. so my parents and i all went to the airport in high spirits. on the boarding pass it said gate E22, so after clearing immigration, we headed in the direction of the appropriate sign. however, i happened to glance at those TV screens that show flight info and apparently, the gate for our flight was F58. the F section was in the opposite direction from the E section, ie in another wing. and the screen display said 'gate closing'!!!! thus, the staff at the airport was greeted by the sight of my parents and i barrelling along the corridors of the terminal 2, luggage in tow, racing for the gate. as we panted towards the gate, i told my mom to run faster, because if the TV was wrong, we have to run back to E22!!!!when we reached F58, we found out that it was the correct gate- there was a last minute change. we were not too late- there was a crowd of people zooming along behind us to reach the same gate too. my dad was asking the counter girl why there was a change and she said she only knew of it real late too. i realised she had suffered more... she was at the first gate earlier than us, and had to sprint to the new gate in her skirt and heels to reach it earlier than us to set up the place and do ticketing and greet us when we arrived, and get scolded by irate passengers... anyway the plane left half an hour later than scheduled.
